Tyler & Jodi's Wedding

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some people, but for Tyler and Jodi it was a dream come true type of day. It was their wedding day - 7 years in the making. They have been through a lot of ups and downs due to health issues, but yesterday they were finally able to put that all aside and enjoy their special day.

Jodi and I date back a very long time - since elementary. Throughout junior high and high school we were inseperable. We essentially lived at each other's houses. I am blessed to call her one of my oldest and best friends, so yesterday it was a privellage to be apart of her special day.

The Ceremony

The whole wedding was classical. A beautiful string quartet serenaded us. The church was simple yet elegant and Jodi looked stunning. Her dress surprised me as it was not what I was expecting her dress to look like. She is usually the type to go for a simple, long elegant dress, but in this case she went all out and looked like a princess. The detail in her dress was amazing and the dress had a beautiful long train that flowed off the back.

The Reception

The reception was held at Bel Acres Golf and Country Club. I had never been there before, but it was beautiful. The food was incredible - all gluten-free to meet Jodi and her entire family's health needs. I had no idea that gluten-free food could taste so yummy.

Dancing

It wouldn't be a Mennonite wedding without everyone standing along the edges of the dance floor while the music is playing. Eventually people got their groove on and started to make their way out on the dance floor.

The First Dance

I got a chance to catch up with Ed and Laurie Buller who were in for the wedding. They are Jodi's aunt and uncle. Ed officiated the ceremony. 2 years ago they followed God's leading which took them to Kaui, Hawaii where Ed is now a pastor at a local church there. Prior to their moving away I did a ton of respite work for them and their son Ben, who too has had a lot of health concerns to overcome. It was fun to see both Ben and his sister Alyson who are now soooo much bigger then the last time I saw them. Both remembered me and greeted me with open arms.
