Next Stop…Piura

After a phenomenal 4 days in Cuzco/Machu Picchu, Heidi and I flew north to Piura where she has been living and working for the last 2 years. After 2 years of regular Skype dates and hearing stories of people in her life and events that she has been a part of it, I was privileged to be a part of her community for 5 short days.

For those 5 days in Piura we visited the Catacaos market (which happened to be on Good Friday of the Holy Week, which brought on quite the festivities. I will forever have the image of a llama peeing into a plastic bag on the street etched in my memory), we indulged in ice cream & frozen yogurt, watched the Passion of the Christ at the church with others in the community, decorated the church for Easter Sunday, ran Kids club, curled up on the couch and watched movies and went on Starbucks dates.
Just to name a few.
