Lately, Aimee and I have had a lot of time to hang out with each other, which has been soooo nice. I'm not overly into the Canada Day festivities, so this year, Aimee and I celebrated Canada's 143rd birthday low key style. The day consisted of a Gelati run to Eva's (mmmm...mango), attempting to stay cool with Hayley in her kiddie pool, and just relaxing, enjoying each other's company. Like I said, it was low key and 100% perfect.

Today, we braved the crowds at the Forks to see the Queen. We figured it was possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we put on our dork hats and stood outside in the sweltering heat to see Her Majesty. She passed by us in the blink of an eye (or so it seemed), but I managed to snap a few pictures amidst being pushed and shoved by fellow on-lookers. Man, people are crazy!
aw, kisses for mom
i love my hayley girl
The processional of the Queen begins on the Provencher bridge with rein-actors shooting off muskets with bag pipes playing. Talk about an entrance!
Her Majesty on the big-screen. I LOVED her hat!
Making her way through the crowds - you can see a little bit of her pink hat among the craziness of the crowd.
Up close and personal with the Prime Minister as she walked by us. Very cool.
As we got into the car to leave, the rain began to pour. We couldn't have timed it better if we tried. At the end of it all, between the heat and the crowds, the 3 of us were beyond exhausted. Poor Hayley could not keep both of her eyes open.

Thanks for a great day!
Impressive of you two to brave the heat/crowds that day--you guys are such troopers!
